Considering the conditions prevailing on global level, where millions of people do not have access to sanitation facilities or clean drinking water, Ziuo has taken an initiative to make these basic human needs available to as many people as possible. Our Health and Sanitation program is an endeavor targeting vulnerable populations, forced to live in volatile and insecure areas.
Good hygiene and proper sanitation are the foundation for overall health and well being of a community, a fact that many individuals and societies are unaware of. Lack of sufficient funds further makes the situation difficult, when it comes to gathering resources and implementing safe and hygienic practices.
The first step of this initiative is focused on educating individuals, families and communities regarding the need and long term effects of ignoring hygiene and sanitation. The next step involves engaging communities in the introduction of workable and cost effective measures, focused on making every community capable of better protecting itself from threats and risks of various infectious diseases.
Food and water are the two primary elements that contribute considerably in ensuring the overall well being of a society. With a large populace suffering from sanitation related diseases, like diarrhea, malaria, cholera, pneumonia and typhoid, along with various skin and eye infections, it is adding to the burden already suffered by health care services. Thus our priorities include initiating nutrition and health programs, along with sanitation projects, making these basic needs accessible to maximum population.
Adopting a comprehensive approach, our Health and Sanitation program involves making sustainable and measurable improvements in living standards and sanitation, thus improving overall environment of communities where we actively serve.
